first friday/second saturday

The season is definitely upon us and I am framing up a storm here in the shop, but taking a quick break to make sure everyone knows about some great things going on over the next couple of days.

TONIGHT is the official opening of .....gallery.....!  Butch Cordora (a regular here on the blog) has elevated from curator to gallery owner and has taken over Ven & Vaida gallery in Old City (18 S 3rd) and will debut as owner of .....gallery..... tonight.  This gallery is exclusively devoted to photography with monthly exhibits beginning, naturally, with a retrospective of Butch's own work.  Congrats, yo!

Another opening not to be missed tonight in Old City is Kate Kern Mundie's New Paintings at F.A.N. Gallery.  One of her commissioned paintings recently came through the shop to be framed, and it was my great honor to frame it this way:

TOMORROW (Dec 8) is a packed day here on the Avenue.  Crafty Balboa Holiday, a knock-down, drag-out craft event (and ALWAYS a great show, IMHO), is happening at Neumann Goretti High School (11th & Morris) from 11 - 6.

And Nice Things...Handmade (1731 EPA) is having its annual Ornament Show (I love this show, too!) from 6 - 10pm.

There's a full list of Second Saturday attractions on Easy Passyunk Ave here, including photos with Santa, and a Holiday Toy Drive.  LOTS to do.

Let me please also point out that there's free metered parking on the Ave every Saturday until Xmas, and the lights are up and twinkling on the 1600 block of S 13th.

And finally, I am glad to announce that we are STILL FRAMING FOR XMAS!  I can guarantee any order placed on or before Dec 8th will be completed in time for the holidays!  Yay!
