On Saturday February 22, from 4 - 6 pm, we are pleased to welcome Studio KMO's Karen O'Leary, this month's Oprah's O Magazine featured artist to the shop!
Karen makes beautifully detailed hand cut maps. By using an x-acto knife and high quality 100 lb Bristol paper, she is able to create stunning lace-like city-grids to evoke good feelings and memories about a specific place.

And I think I am also going to be doing a demonstration of a trampoline mount, which is the technique I use when framing these to elevate the art high above the background with no sagging. It really creates a dramatic look, fully emphasizing Karen's work by casting a shadow on the background surface.
We also still have items from the Studio KMO pop-up shop--prints, notecards, original hand-cut neighborhood maps and that gorgeous whole city map!
