design trend

collage walls, part 3
When you NEED to be matchy-matchy.

source
There are lots of different kinds of people in this world, and sometimes you don't truly know a person until you meet them at the design table.  Some folks get visibly disturbed when I start talking about weighted bottoms on mats.  For them, the idea of any unevenness in placement makes them bananas.  That's cool.  I totally get that.  And I have experience designing all types of collage walls.  Above is a collage that uses identical frames in identical sizes.  Perfect order for those who prefer it.

But even America's favorite perfectionist (above) can handle different sized frames, as long as the items are in the same style and meticulously spaced.

Above is an approach that looks a little more modern at first glance, but really is very conventional in its spacing and uniform frame styles.

OCD people may want to look away now.

Above is a unique wall that uses frames united in color, but in a variety of styles and crazy spacing.

And above the frames are all different styles, but the art unites the grouping.

And finally here the frames are unmatched, the style of art is all over the place, but the collage is successful because of its spacing and amusing theme of portraits.
